Animals and staff have escaped unharmed after a fire broke out at a Fife zoo.
The blaze ripped through the wildlife sanctuary this afternoon with fire crews tackling flames.
Four fire engines raced to the zoo after the alarm was raised shortly after 12:32pm on Sunday, July 18.
Dramatic photos from the scene show ferocious flames and smoke billowing from the zoo in Cupar.
Now the zoo has confirmed 'nobody has been hurt' following the terrifying incident.
The Fife Zoo said on social media: "Attention visitors unfortunately due to an incident on site, we will be closed for the rest of the day.
"All humans and animals are safe, nobody has been hurt.
"We will keep you updated.
"Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts.
"Please contact us from tomorrow on 01337 258224 if you have any booking enquiries."
It comes just over a year on from a devastating fire that ripped through buildings at the zoo after starting in the soft play area.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 12.32pm on Sunday to reports of a building fire at Birniefield, Collessie, in Fife.
"Operations control mobilised four appliances to the scene where a fire was affecting a barn, a caravan and a car.
“There are no reported casualties at this time, crews remain in attendance.”
Visitors were evacuated as the fire took hold and no one is thought to have been injured.
In an update to visitors at 2pm today, the zoo said: "Unfortunately due to an incident on site, we will be closed for the rest of the day."
