English National Orchestra’s music director Mark Wigglesworth returns to Australia to conduct Elgar’s first symphony, one of his two completed symphonies. The piece is a remnant of old-world England and has become a staple of British orchestras.
Wigglesworth will also conduct Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante which is part-symphony, part-concerto. The piece is taken up by a well-balanced duo with Adelaide Symphony Orchestra’s Natsuko Yoshimoto on violin and Imants Larsens on viola.
