Nobel Mendy to Rangers transfer fee detailed as deal edges closer

Rangers are closing in on a deal to sign Real Betis defender Nobel Mendy.

And the Rangers Review have revealed how much the defender, 20, will cost the Ibrox club.

Discussions between the clubs took place over the weekend, with an agreement on the verge of being struck.

Rangers will pay £2m for Mendy, who will become the club's 10th summer signing under new head coach Russell Martin.

It's believed the centre-back will sign a four-year deal, running until the summer of 2029.

Rayo Vallecano showed their interest in the Betis defender, however, it's understood Mendy wanted to commit his future to Rangers after learning of their interest.

He will swap Seville for Glasgow this week, where he will join Nasser Djiga and Emmanuel Fernandez as the club's new centre-backs.

Mendy fills the requirement for the club's need to fill the left-sided centre-back position.

Robin Propper has already departed Ibrox this summer, meanwhile, Ben Davies, Clinton Nsiala and Leon King are also surplus to requirements.
