‘No way!’ - Arsenal fans make Jadon Sancho Man Utd jibe after what Gabriel Martinelli did

Arsenal fans insisted Gabriel Martinelli was better than Jadon Sancho after the Brazilian scored a stunner against Newcastle.

The Brazilian was introduced to proceedings mid-way through the second-half after Bukayo Saka was forced to withdraw with an injury.

The England man had given the Gunners the lead with a great strike of his own, only to see his afternoon curtailed.

Martinelli had an almost instant impact as he climbed off the bench to double Arsenal’s advantage.

Latching onto a fantastic ball from right-back Takehiro Tomiyasu, the forward volleyed exquisitely into the far corner of the net for what was his first goal of the season.

He has been starved of opportunities so far throughout the current season having made just four starts in all competitions - the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe being ahead of the forward in the attacking pecking order under Mikel Arteta.

After the goal, Arsenal fans took to Twitter to shower the 20-year-old with considerable praise, whilst some took their opportunity to fire a shot at Manchester United man Jadon Sancho.

Here are the best of their responses from social media.

Sancho’s struggles at Old Trafford since his summer move from Borussia Dortmund are well-broadcast.

The winger is yet to net his first Premier League goal for the Red Devils, although did finally get off the mark in all competitions in their Champions League victory over Villarreal in midweek.

He will be looking to add to that record as United do battle with Premier League table-toppers Chelsea on Sunday.
