No trains will run between Bristol Temple Meads and Parkway this weekend

There will be no trains running between Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway this weekend as engineers carry out signalling works in the area.

Engineers will be working on both Saturday and Sunday (October 26 and 27) to upgrade signalling between Bristol Parkway and Filton Abbey Wood.

As a result, buses will replace train services from Temple Meads via Bristol Parkway or Filton Abbey Wood and along the Severn Beach line.

Trains between London Paddington and South Wales will be diverted between Swindon and Newport, extending normal journey times by around 45 minutes.

Further work is due to take place on Sunday, November 3 with buses replacing trains between Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway or Severn Beach.

CrossCountry trains between Cheltenham Spa and Bristol Temple Meads will be diverted via an alternative route on both weekends, adding up to an hour to the normal journey time.
