No trades for Seahawks, who place Justin Britt on injured reserve

The Seattle Seahawks made one confirmed roster move on trade deadline day, placing center Justin Britt on the injured reserve and recalling guard Jordan Roos from the practice squad.

The team did not make any last minute trades before Tuesday’s deadline, on what was a quiet day around the league as a whole.

Speculation ran wild that the Seahawks would trade from their plethora of 2020 draft picks to acquire help at either tight end or center following the season-ending injuries to Will Dissly and Britt.

The team did acquire Quandre Diggs last week, bolstering a secondary that needed some additional help, especially with injuries lingering for Lano Hill and Bradley McDougald.

However, coach Pete Carroll’s prediction that the deadline wouldn’t provide much excitement proved prophetic.

“I don’t think it’s going to entertain me for as long as I’d like,” Carroll said on Monday. “It seems kind of quiet. As much as we’ve worked to get to this point to understand what’s available and what’s going on and people that are talking; like we say we’re always in on it and I’m kind of hoping things start picking up a little bit just for fun.”

The 6-2 Seahawks will head into the rest of the 2019 campaign with the players they have and a much more challenging schedule awaiting them, starting with the Buccaneers at CenturyLink Field on Sunday, Nov. 3.
