No Time to Die, the next James Bond film in the franchise, has been delayed for a third time because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Daniel Craig’s last outing as 007 had already been pushed back twice, and will now debut globally on 8 October 2021, according to an announcement on the film's website.
The movie, which also stars Lea Seydoux and Rami Malek, had originally been due to premiere in April 2020.
Its delay will come as a further blow to cinemas that have been forced to shut during lockdown.
Many Twitter users have reacted to the news by making jokes about how they’ll have aged a few years by the time the film finally comes out.
The latest delay to Bond has sparked a string of other delays to major releases. Sony has pushed back Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Peter Rabbit 2, Morbius, Uncharted and Cinderella; while Universal has moved the sci-fi movie Bios back from April to November.
Aside from the film industry, the live music world has also been battered by the pandemic. Earlier this week it was announced that the Glastonbury music festival is cancelled for a second year running.
