No, the Vikings won’t be wearing Duluth Eskimos jerseys in 2019

I know, I was excited, too.

Lawyer Josh Gerben noticed on Tuesday that the NFL had filed to trademark the term “Duluth Eskimos.”

The Eskimos played two seasons in the NFL back in 1926 and 1927.

With the NFL celebrating its 100th season this year, it would make sense if the Vikings would wear those jerseys to celebrate.

Well, Paul Lukas, who runs the uniform tracker website Uni Watch, chatted with an NFL spokesperson shortly after and said that there were no plans to make a “name change or wear those jerseys.”

It was a fun tease.
