'No thanks' - Arsenal fans send message to Raul Sanllehi over Jerome Boateng transfer links

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng.

The January transfer window is now open and Arsenal fans will be hoping to see Edu and Raul Sanllehi active in the market for reinforcements.

The Gunners have conceded 30 goals already this season and sit 10th in the Premier League table, although there have been shoots of a recovery under new head coach Mikel Arteta already.

Arsenal added Kieran Tierney and David Luiz to their back-line last summer, while William Saliba also signed and will join up with the squad at the end of this season following a year back at former club Saint Etienne in the French Ligue Un.

Mikel Arteta on Arsenal's January transfer plans

There is a feeling that the Gunners need more in terms of defensive options and the likes of Red Bull Leipzig's Dayot Upamecano and Juventus defender Merih Demiral have been touted as potential January transfer window signings.

However, Boateng has now emerged as a potential signing this month, with German publication Bild suggesting there has already been contact between Arsenal, the player and Bayern Munich over a move.

Sky Sports report that the German defender could be available for a fee of around £12.8million this month.

And while the Gunners are not usually very active in this winter window, the ACL season-ending injury suffered by Calum Chambers could change their minds.

However, Arsenal supporters, in the main, are not particularly impressed with the links with Boateng.

After being linked with youngsters like Demiral and Upamecano, the 31-year-old German would see the club take a different tack on transfers.

Although it would not necessarily be a break from the norm, with Luiz arriving at the Emirates in the summer.
