No swimming notice in place at Kinsale beach, Co Cork after 'sewage fault'

One of Cork's most popular beaches has a no swimming notice after a sewage fault in the harbour.

Dock Beach in Kinsale has been declared unsafe for swimmers as of today after the sudden fault.

According to Cork Beo , Cork County Council said sewage entered the harbour and they are monitoring the situation and will update when it is safe to enter the water again.

The Council tweeted: "There was a fault with an Irish Water sewage pump in Kinsale town today leading to sewage entering the harbour. This has been fixed by Irish Water.

"There is currently a prohibition on swimming at the Dock Beach but signs will be taken down as soon as it is safe to swim again."

Cork County Council will update on their social media channels when it has been declared safe to swim again.
