'No suspicious circumstances' as body found in undergrowth near to Bolton school

A body has been found in the undergrowth near to a school in Bolton.

Officers were called to reports of a body at 12.25pm on Friday (June 11) that had been found in the undergrowth near Mount St Joseph off Greenland Road, police have said.

Initial inquiries suggest the body may have been deceased for some time.

Police have said there aren't believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

Officers are working towards identifying the person and inquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Police were called by NWAS shortly after 12.25pm on Friday 11 Jun, to a report of a body found in undergrowth near a school off Greenland Road in Bolton.

"Officers attended, and initial inquiries suggest the body may have been deceased for some time.

"There aren't believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, and officers are working towards identifying the person.

"Inquiries are ongoing."
