No surprise, Thielen and Diggs rank as PFF’s best WR duo

The Vikings have found themselves quite the duo at wide receiver with Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs.

The two combined for 215 catches for 2,394 yards and 18 touchdowns last season.

The folks over at Pro Football Focus ranked the best wide receiver tandems in the NFL heading into 2019. Thielen and Diggs ranked first.

Here’s what PFF wrote about the two:

After stellar 2018 seasons, Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs have cemented themselves as one of the most dynamic receiving duos in the NFL. The Vikings’ pass-catchers have clearly emerged as two of the league’s premier route runners and are among the best in contested catch situations.

What’s remarkable about these two is that they were never supposed to be this good. Thielen was an undrafted free agent and Diggs was a fifth-round pick.

Statistically, it might be hard for these two to beat last year’s numbers, with more familiarity with quarterback Kirk Cousins and an improved offensive line, that just might be the case.
