And this is Chelsia.Grey Netjetter Chelsia Tongue starts making preparations ... at 3am.
Do dreams come true? Well only occasionally, and mine just have! It is an amazing feeling - half stunned, half disbelieving, total excitement and a mind full of cotton wool which can't quite focus on anything - you should try it some time!!
Then the reality check sets in - there is a huge amount of preparation and very little time to arrange things. I have just had my first sleepless night, and friends, obscure websites and odd acquaintances are wondering why they are getting emails from me at 3am. Even my nocturnally alert cats were rubbing against my legs to check that I hadn't flipped, and Squiggs even tried to add his bit on the keyboard. He hasn't yet worked out that he won't be able to come along, that my sights will be set on larger cats.
It is a great challenge, and I would love to hear from anyone who would like to join in via the web - perhaps you have already visited the arctic wilderness/ Sarek National Park and have some suggestions for me, or you may know someone/something I should check out. Maybe the hot wilderness is more interesting to you, and you would like me to ask questions of desert dwellers or check on a lifestyle detail. Perhaps you've done it all already, have stared down roaming cheetahs, managed to escape rogue elephants and change 4x4 wheels dug into three feet of soft sand - please let me know how to do it!
