Martyn Crute, a Lincolnshire gas fitter, was hoping to keep a low profile after his trial for health-and-safety failings. He donned a maxi skirt and stripy tank top in a bid to evade photographers – and made the national press. But while he offered no mitigating circumstances in court, he surely deserves credit for walking so well in a pair of 4in heels.
