Police have drawn a blank following sightings of a kangaroo hopping around in Bulwell .
The Bulwell, Rise Park and Highbury Vale team posted a grainy picture of a mystery creature resembling the Australian national animal yesterday morning.
Officers said they believed the animal, which was spotted on the old pit site yesterday, had two joeys in tow.
But the team has now cast doubt on the sighting . A statement said: "We’ve looked into this report and nothing’s jumping out at us - but if you see anything out back, hop to it and let us know."
The picture was shared more than 1,000 times after being posted on the team's Facebook page.
Many commenters suggested it was more likely a dog or deer.
