No Serena Williams affects US Open final ticket market

Serena Williams' loss to Karolina Pliskova in the U.S. Open women's semifinals Thursday drastically lowered asking prices for the women's final on Saturday.

The average price before Williams' loss was $761.82. As of midday Friday it was $336.18, a drop of more than 50 percent, according to TiqIQ.com, which monitors secondary-ticket market sites.

The least expensive ticket for the Pliskova-Angelique Kerber final as of Friday was $44, down from $118 before Pliskova's upset victory over Williams.
