Last year’s winner of I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! Giovanna Fletcher will not appear in Sunday’s final because of Covid fears.

Normally the reigning champion of the hit ITV show would return to crown their successor but bosses have said the 36-year-old writer should not visit the camp because of the virus.

A show source told The Sun: “ITV would have loved to have Giovanna back, she was a hugely popular winner last year.

“But due to Covid rules — even with the show coming to an end on Sunday — it was decided they couldn’t take the risk without her isolating, which is a lot to ask for a one-minute cameo.”

The same thing happened last year when soap star Jacqueline Jossa, who had won in 2019, was not able to hand over the title.

Jossa, who won while the show was still filmed in Australia, was initially invited to the final at Gwrych Castle, North Wales, but ITV changed its mind after the Christmas lockdown was introduced.
