No queues at city centre vaccination clinic, bosses say - as they urge people to 'get ready for Christmas'

Mancunians have been urged to get jabbed ahead of Christmas - with 'no queues' at a city centre walk-in clinic.

The vaccination centre at Manchester Town Hall is open until 7pm tonight (December 23) and is offering first, second and booster jabs of the pfizer vaccine.

Last week, people hoping to be vaccinated were turned away as there were not enough jabs to meet the surge in demand.

The clinic was set up after Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressed the nation, urging people to get booster jabs to halt the rise of the Omicron variant.

Latest reports have shown that infection rates in all 10 Greater Manchester boroughs have gone up.

Manchester Health and Care Commissioning tweeted: "There are currently no queues at the Town Hall walk-in Covid-19 vaccination clinic

"It is open until 7pm tonight (Thursday 23 December). Come down and get ready for Christmas"
