BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh home minister Narottam Mishra on Saturday said the government has no plan to recover repolling costs from those accused of booth capture.
Four days ago, the Bhind administration had issued a notice to four men accused of looting panchayat poll ballot papers in a village in Lahar, ordering them to pay over Rs 5 lakh to cover repolling expenses, or have their ‘illegal homes’ demolished. Lahar is the assembly constituency of leader of opposition Govind Singh.
Asked if the state government will recover Rs 5,02,000 from the four accused, Mishra said on Saturday, “The MP government has no such proposal under consideration.” tnn
