'No other vehicle involved' as man trapped under parked car now in very serious condition

Police say no other vehicle was involved when a man was trapped under a parked car.

Officers closed a stretch of Southmead Road on Wednesday night (February 3) after an incident between Doncaster Road and Wellington Hill.

A man found trapped under a parked car at about 5.20pm was freed and taken to hospital.

An Avon and Somerset police spokeswoman has confirmed the man remains in hospital with very serious injuries as of Friday morning.

She said there is no criminal investigation and no other vehicles are believed to have been involved.

A large police, ambulance and fire service presence was pictured on the scene on Wednesday.
