Leeds United fans all say the same thing as Patrick Bamford called up for England squad

Patrick Bamford has been included in the England squad for the first time after Gareth Southgate selected his 25-man contingent for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

The 27-year-old has been rewarded for his excellent form in a Whites shirt, having grabbed 17 goals and nine assists since the start of last season.

This is Bamford's first international call-up of any note since he was named in the Under-21s set up for the European Championship in 2015; he had to withdraw from that squad due to injury.

He is one of two Leeds representatives in the Three Lions camp for the matches against Hungary, Andorra and Poland, with Kalvin Phillips also included.

The last time two or more Whites players were named in an England squad was when Alan Smith and Danny Mills featured for Sven-Goran Eriksson in 2004.

After Bamford's inclusion, Leeds supporters have been giving their reaction on social media and it's safe to say they are delighted with the news.

One fan believes that his hard work has paid off, whilst another praised the forward for his performances over the past couple of seasons.

Here's what some of them had to say:

@maverickrobbo9: Deserved.

@bagpuss1809: Brilliant news and just goes to show what hard work can give you. And to also [silence] all those who slated him week in week out during the Championship seasons. He has had a brilliant 18 months and this is fully deserved. Well done Patrick!

@Chris191910: Yesssss. Lord Bamford.

@StuDalgleish: Amazing! Thoroughly deserved after his performance over the last few years.

@dzfoster1985: Congratulations, a huge achievement and just reward for how well you have played.

@bsw1991: Absolutely buzzing for you Patrick! Well deserved. Go and do your thing... it didn't work out too badly for the other Leeds lad lately.

@ChrisMi23829335: Top news, worked your socks off and become a different player. Been singing your praises for 2 seasons when all around me doubted him!!

@talkaboutlufc: No one deserves it more, get in @Patrick_Bamford.

Bamford and Phillips are expected to join the England camp at St George's Park on Sunday night or Monday morning after Leeds' Premier League clash with Burnley.
