"No one cares when I become the victim" - Piers Morgan hits back after Andi Peters 'fat shaming' row

Piers Morgan has hit back on Good Morning Britain today after being 'fat shamed' by Andi Peters.

The outspoken presenter of the popular ITV daytime show demanded an apology from Andi Peters after he made a 'pie' joke towards him on Monday.

After talking about pies to mark the start of National Pie week, Andi jokingly asked: "I wonder who's eaten all the pies in the studio?"

The camera then cut to an unimpressed Piers Morgan who suggested he could have Andi sacked and went on to say: "You know what mate, fat-shaming is actually, really not acceptable in the workplace."

During today's instalment of the show, Piers went on a rant about tough-love fat shaming and losing weight, to which Susanna intervened and argued this wasn't a nice thing to do.

What followed was a bust-up between the two presenters with Piers declaring nobody came to his defence when Andi fat shamed him.

"Honestly Piers, shaming people about anything isn't very nice," Susanna said.

"You didn't say that yesterday when Andi Peters was fat shaming me," Piers argued.

"We were giving you a taste of you're own medicine," Susanna responded.

"No one cares when it's aimed at me and I become the victim.

"You're [Susanna's] hypocrisy has been laid bare because when I was being fat shamed you revelled in it. Now you're trying to pretend it's awful and it's bad for people's mental health.

"You didn't care when it was being done to me," Piers insisted.

"That is not true," said Susanna.

Piers then went on to admit he was joking about the whole thing and he "doesn't care" what anybody says to him.

"I was joking. Obviously, I don't care," Piers clarified.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
