Kylian Mbappe has hit out at Paris Saint-Germain’s critics following the French side’s dramatic, late win against Atalanta in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Underdogs Atalanta took the lead through Mario Pasalic on 26 minutes on Wednesday night and an upset victory seemed to be on the cards in Lisbon.

But Marquinhos equalised for PSG in the 90th minute before Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting broke Atalanta hearts in added time to secure a semi-final spot for the Ligue 1 outfit.

“No one believed it except us,” Mbappe tweeted.

“Congratulations to the whole group, we went to get this one.”

Mbappe also praised PSG’s physios for helping him to recover from an ankle injury in time for the game.

“You don’t talk to me about pain,” he wrote.

“A big thank you to the medical staff for getting me back on my feet.”

The victory means PSG reached the semi-finals of Europe’s elite competition for the first time since 1995.

On Tuesday, Thomas Tuchel’s players will take on the winners of tonight’s quarter-final between Atletico Madrid and RB Leipzig.
