No new positive Covid-19 cases for Wexford with Kilkenny game set to go ahead on Sunday

Wexford's Allianz Hurling League clash with Kilkenny is expected to go ahead on Sunday after no new positive Covid-19 cases were recorded in Davy Fitzgerald's side.

The game was postponed last weekend after two Wexford players tested positive for the virus, with the GAA stating earlier this week that the match had been 'provisionally rescheduled' for this Sunday.

In a statement on Thursday, Wexford said: "Wexford GAA wish to confirm that further testing of our senior hurling panel revealed no positive cases. The panel will resume training and will be in a position to fulfil our upcoming fixture against @KilkennyCLG."

Two Clare hurlers were designated as close contacts following their Allianz League tie with Wexford on May 16, sparking a public spat between the counties which has now been referred to the GAA’s Management Committee.
