No new deaths as 251 COVID cases recorded

NSW has recorded a jump in COVID-19 numbers with 251 fresh cases reported on Wednesday.

There were zero deaths recorded in the 24 hour reporting period to 8pm Tuesday and 85,403 tests taken.

The single and double dose vaccine rate both rose by 0.1 per cent from the day before to 94.6 per cent for single dose, while 92.5 per cent of eligible population have now had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

The announcement comes after NSW Health confirmed on Tuesday afternoon a Central Coast woman in her 30s is infected with the Omicron variant of concern.

This fully vaccinated woman is now isolating at home, but had been to various venues in Wyong, Toukley, Wadalba, Ryde and Parramatta on Friday and Saturday.

NSW Health has listed those places as exposure sites. They include an Aldi supermarket at Toukley, KFC at Wyong and various shops at Westfield Parramatta.

This woman was an overseas traveller, who had recently arrived in NSW.

There are currently 154 people in NSW hospitals with COVID-19, including 25 needing intensive care.
