No new COVID-19 cases in the ACT

The ACT has recorded another day without a new infection of COVID-19 as almost 50,000 tests have been conducted.

There is currently one active case of coronavirus in Canberra and the total remains at 113. So far 109 people have recovered and three people have died.

ACT Health confirmed 932 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours bringing the total for the duration of the pandemic to 49,505.

ACT chief health officer Kerryn Coleman said Canberrans needed to remain cautious as the caseload in Victoria and NSW continued to grow.

"The pandemic is not over and we must remain vigilant," Dr Coleman said.

"We all have a responsibility to make sure we are maintaining a physical distance from people and practicing good hygiene. This is good general advice to follow, regardless of where you are and what you are doing.

NSW reported 19 new infections on Wednesday, just two of those are in hotel quarantine.

It came as the Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced the Batemans Bay cluster, which had been linked to eight cases, had "stabilised".

Mr Morrison also said the situation in NSW had been contained.

At least 150 Canberrans had been in isolation due to that cluster after Dr Coleman implemented a public health direction requiring anyone who had attended the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club on July 13, 15, 16 and 17 to quarantine.

Dr Coleman also again reminded everyone to stay home if they are unwell.

"You may think it's just a cold, but you must stay home if you are unwell. Don't go to work or to the shops. Go and get tested for COVID-19."
