Every morning brings a chance for some more trouble for the Baltimore Ravens but they can breathe a sigh of relief on Wednesday. According to the Washington Post’s Mark Maske, the Ravens had no new positive COVID-19 tests on Wednesday, bringing them another day closer to potentially being able to clear some players to practice and play.
Baltimore placed a total of seven players on the COVID-19/Reserve list on Tuesday after cornerback Marlon Humphrey tested positive. While none of the other six players have had a positive test yet, they were deemed as “high-risk close contact” and were put into isolation as well as a precaution. However, that doesn’t mean the Ravens won’t have most of those players available for them in Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts.
While Humphrey will be on the COVID-19/Reserve list for a minimum of 10 days, the other six players only have to be on for five days minimum. If they continue to have no positive tests and show no symptoms for five days, all but Humphrey could be cleared to play Sunday.
Unfortunately, it’s a bit of a waiting game for Baltimore right now. Though they’ll continue to practice with the players they have available and have those on the COVID-19 list to participate in team meetings via video conference, the Ravens won’t really know their true fate until Saturday.
