No new coronavirus deaths reported at Royal Bolton Hospital for just the third time since April 5

No new coronavirus deaths have been reported at Royal Bolton Hospital today.

It is just the third day since April 5 that no new deaths have been announced at the hospital - the other two days were May 3 and 4.

The latest figures from NHS England mean that the number of deaths announced at Royal Bolton Hospital remains at 192.

However, the latest update does not mean that no Covid-19 patients have died in the last 24 hours.

There can be a delay of up to several days before a death is announced as hospitals have to process the information before notifying NHS England.

In Bolton, there have now been more than 900 confirmed Covid-19 cases, with 13 announced yesterday, taking the total to 903.

New statistics also suggest that the UK death toll may have passed 40,000 when care home deaths are taken into account.
