No new coronavirus deaths in Scotland as three new cases confirmed

No new deaths have been recorded overnight in Scotland for 11th day in a row.

It comes as the Scottish Government released the latest figures revealing the number of cases has increased by three in the last 24 hours.

The number of those testing positive for the virus is now 18,554 with the hospital death toll remaining at 2,491.

And the number of patients getting treatment for confirmed or suspected cases of the virus in hospital is 270 - with two currently in intensive care.

There is one new suspected Covid-19 case in adult care homes on July 26, the Government confirmed.

The update comes after the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced a U-turn on quarantine restrictions on Scots returning from Spain.

Scots holidaymakers  heading in and out of Scotland's airports have given mixed reactions after being told they will have to  quarantine  for 14 days - as the UK and Scottish governments flip-flop over corona travel to Spain.

Scotland moved further out of lockdown last week with a number of restrictions lifted across the country.

The most vulnerable across the country were forced to stay inside during the height of the pandemic, however as of Friday they are allowed to meet more people indoors.
