No new coronavirus deaths in Leeds hospitals during past 48 hours

There have been no new coronavirus deaths recorded in Leeds hospitals during the past 48 hours.

The two deaths that were recorded at Leeds Teaching Hospitals on Thursday are the only deaths from the virus in Leeds since July 15.

There have been no deaths recorded in Yorkshire hospitals since that Thursday either.

Leeds hospitals' death toll stands at 340 and Yorkshire's remains at 2,585.

Nationally, four new coronavirus deaths have been recorded hospitals in the last 24 hours.

These were in Hull, London, Tameside near Manchester and Frimley in the South East.

A spokesperson for the NHS said: "A further four people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,456.

"Patients were aged between 66 and 88 years old. All had known underlying health conditions.

"Their families have been informed."
