No new coronavirus deaths in Greater Manchester hospitals in the past 24 hours

There have been no new deaths linked to coronavirus in Greater Manchester hospitals in the last 24 hours.

The latest data from NHS England was published this afternoon and shows a further 23 people died after testing positive for Covid-19 in England.

But none of the deaths were reported in the North West.

It means the total number of deaths in our region remains 5,816.

Eight of the deaths were in the Midlands, five in the East of England, four in the North East and Yorkshire, three in the South East, two in London and one in the South West.

The total number of coronavirus deaths at hospital trusts in Greater Manchester, as of 28 March, are:

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust - 645

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust - 9

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust - 1,165

NHS Nightingale Hospital North West - 6

Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust - 1,575

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust - 8

Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust - 495

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust - 551

Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust - 577

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust - 28

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust - 757

Every day the NHS in England gives an update on Covid-19 related fatalities at hospital trusts across the country.

These are cases where a patient has tested positive, or where Covid-19 is mentioned on their death certificate.

The total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England stands at 86,176.

The 23 newly-reported deaths were patients aged between 15 and 91 years old. All except one patient had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 19 March 2020 to 27 March 2021 with the majority being on or after 25 March.

Their families have been informed.
