No new coronavirus deaths in Greater Manchester hospitals for second day running

There have been no new deaths linked to coronavirus in Greater Manchester hospitals for the second day running.

There were two further deaths in the North West but none were in our region.

So far, 5,816 people have died in Greater Manchester's hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus.

Nationally, a further 18 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths in hospitals in England to 86,194.

Patients were aged between 58 and 95 years old, NHS England said. All except one (age 62) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from March 20 and 28.

The total number of coronavirus deaths at hospital trusts in Greater Manchester, as of Monday, March 29, are:

Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust - 577

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust - 28

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust - 757

Every day the NHS in England gives an update on Covid-19 related fatalities at hospital trusts across the country.

These are cases where a patient has tested positive, or where Covid-19 is mentioned on their death certificate.
