No new coronavirus deaths at Merseyside hospitals

No further deaths from coronavirus have been recorded in Merseyside hospitals.

The latest figures from NHS England show that no Covid-19 deaths have been added to Trusts in our region.

The actual regional coronavirus death toll is likely to be higher than reported, as this data does not include deaths in care homes or the wider community.

It also reflects when deaths are recorded, rather than when they actually took place.

The full breakdown for total Covid-19 deaths at each Trust in our region are as follows:

Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust - 4

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust - 4

Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 19

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 466

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust - 3

Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust - 149

St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust - 207

The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust - 10

Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 134

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 236

In total, 1,232 people have died in the region's hospitals from coronavirus.

In England, 39 new deaths were recorded today, while Wales reported five fatalities and there were no new deaths in Scotland.

Northern Ireland's latest figures have not yet been announced.

The Government's official toll of 44,131 deaths in all settings, including care homes, will be updated later.
