Hardcore survival horror video game fans probably know "No More Room in Hell," a cooperative first-person survival horror video game that actually began as a mod.
More than a decade after the original game's standalone release, its sequel is just days away from exiting Early Access. Here's what you have to know about "No More Room in Hell 2."
'No More Room in Hell 2'
"No More Room in Hell 2" is an eight-player cooperative horror shooter developed by Torn Banner Studios (the team behind "Chivalry"), built on the foundations of Lever Games' original 2011 free-to-play mod for "Half-Life 2."
That original title was inspired by George Romero's zombie films, and the sequel is set in the same universe, where a disease called Kulon has overrun the world with the undead. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the sequel takes place at the onset of an active zombie apocalypse, told through a grounded, tense survival story rather than an over-the-top action romp.
"No More Room in Hell 2" drops players into a city infested by the undead, where eight survivors find themselves alone with no way out except vehicular extraction, forcing them to work together to call for help.
Players take on the role of emergency Responders deployed into the eerie darkness of various zombie-infested locations, joining up with others to complete missions aimed at aiding humanity's survival. The narrative is designed to unfold gradually, with each map representing a new chapter in the game's overarching story.

Gameplay
Unlike fast-paced zombie shooters such as "Left 4 Dead," "No More Room in Hell 2" takes a slower, more deliberate approach. There's no sprinting through swarms, and resources are scarce and unreliable. Every encounter with the horde risks infection or permanent character death (permadeath), meaning every fight is a genuine struggle and every victory matters.
According to Game Rant, players start alone and vulnerable with limited supplies, needing to conserve health and ammo, use the environment (barricading doors, setting traps), and prioritize finding teammates alongside completing objectives.
Editions and Pricing
"No More Room in Hell 2" will be a single standard edition priced at $29.99.
However, according to WorthPlaying, Steam and Epic Games Store will offer 35% off on launch day, while PlayStation and Xbox stores will offer a 20% launch discount.
