No more coronavirus deaths in Merseyside hospitals

Merseyside's hospitals have recorded no new coronavirus deaths in another hopeful update.

In today's NHS update, all of the Trusts covering our region remained on the same total for Covid-19 fatalities.

The current totals are as follows:

Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust - 4

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust - 4

Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 19

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 462

Merseycare NHS Foundation Trust - 3

Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust - 148

St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust - 206

The Walton Centre - 10

Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 131

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 235

Across the country, NHS England said a further 37 people who had tested positive for the virus had died.

A statement said: "A further 37 people, who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 28,709.

"Patients were aged between 48 and 94 years old.

"One patient, aged 80, had no known underlying health conditions.

"Their families have been informed."

Once again the North West was amongst the worst affected, with 11 deaths compared to one in the South West and zero in London.

There are repeated warnings that today's numbers could still be being affected by a lag in reporting.
