'No Leeds United shirt, no ban!' Fans fume as Derby County land Tom Lawrence boost

Derby County have been handed a major boost ahead of their Championship play-off meetings with Leeds United after it was announced this afternoon that Tom Lawrence had escaped suspension.

The 25-year-old was alleged to have deceived an official against West Brom last weekend as Derby earned late penalty in the final game of the Championship season.

Leeds fans were desperate to see the forward face some kind of punishment for two different reasons. The first was the fact that Leeds star Patrick Bamford was recently hit with a two-match ban for 'deceiving a match official' for a dive against Aston Villa.

However, with other reports suggesting there was minimal contact made, it has now been revealed that Lawrence has no case to answer for.

The worrying penalty statistic Leeds United will be taking into the play-offs

The second reason Leeds supporters were hopeful of a ban for Lawrence was because of the upcoming clashes in the play-offs between the Whites and Derby.

Ahead of the first leg on Saturday May 11, it's safe to say Leeds fans are fuming over the latest decision by the EFL which has gone against them.
