No further coronavirus deaths reported in Merseyside hospitals

There have been no further coronavirus deaths across Merseyside hospitals in a hopeful update today.

Covid-19 deaths have stayed low in recent days and weeks at the hospital Trusts covering our region.

With no deaths recorded today, the death totals at each Trust remain as follows:

Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust - 4

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust - 4

Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 19

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 467

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust - 3

Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust - 149

St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust - 207

The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust - 10

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 236

Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 135

NHS England said a further 42 people across the country have died in hospitals after testing positive for Covid-19.

The youngest victim was just 22.

A statement read: "A further 42 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 28,969.

"Patients were aged between 22 and 100 years old. Six patients, aged between 60 and 94, had no known underlying health conditions.

"Their families have been informed."
