No further coronavirus deaths recorded in Merseyside

There were no new coronavirus deaths recorded in Merseyside in the latest update.

The Department of Health has today revealed that 15 deaths have been added to the country's virus total.

While a much smaller increase in fatalities is always to be welcomed, there are always warning that a lag in reporting over a weekend can distort figures.

Merseyside, a region hit very hard by tragedy during this crisis, has not suffered any further deaths in the latest update.

All the hospital Trusts covering our region remain on the same death tolls, which are as follows

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Royal, Aintree, Broadgreen): 458

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 235

Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust - 4

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust - 4

Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 130

Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 19

Merseycare NHS Foundation Trust - 3

Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust - 145

St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust - 2 05

The Walton Centre - 10

The UK government death toll now stands at 42,647 across the country, according to figures released today.

However, Office for National Statistics data indicates that this number will be more than 50,000 in reality.
