NSW remained without recorded cases of local COVID-19 transmission for the ninth day on Sunday, with only two returning travelers added to the state's numbers.
The state now has 4045 recorded cases since the pandemic began. 51 cases are undergoing treatment, with three patients in intensive care.
None required ventilation on Sunday and 80 per cent of the active cases are received out of hospital treatment.
Testing numbers continue to droop, with a drop to 8305 statewide in the 24 hours to 8pm Saturday compared to more than 10,000 the day before. Health authorities, including those in the Hunter, have flagged lower testing numbers as a concern as they attempt to stay vigilant for the virus circulating in the community.
More than 2.7 million tests have been administered in NSW so far.
The figures support the case for increased re-openings. Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk on Friday flagged a November 1 reopening of her state's border with NSW if community transmission remained low.
