'No excuses' - West Ham and Man Utd target Joe Rodon discusses 2020/21 Swansea City aims

Joe Rodon says there are "no excuses" for him not to be a key figure for Swansea City this season following his struggles with injury.

The Welshman was restricted to just 21 league appearances last term after suffering two serious injuries.

However, he has started the 2020/21 campaign in fine form, helping his boyhood club keep clean sheets against both Preston and Birmingham.

Prior to the stalemate with Birmingham, Steve Cooper spoke about his desire to see Rodon - who is reportedly the subject of transfer interest from West Ham and Manchester United - play a significant part for Swansea this season.

And Rodon, 22, says he has put his injury struggles behind him, adding that his sole focus is now on his side's Championship clash with Wycombe on Saturday.

“I've put it all behind me now, there are no excuses,” the centre-back told the club's official website.

“All I'm focused on is the next game on Saturday. That’s how it has to be, it’s all about playing and delivering on a Saturday.

“No player wants to be injured. I'm looking forward to next Saturday and I'm going to give everything for the team.

“We all know what to expect, Wycombe are a very physical team. But we just focus on ourselves, play our game and hopefully, we can come away with a good result.

“Every game in this league is tough and it's only going to get tougher. We take one game at a time and go from there.”
