'No excuses' - Newcastle fans blame Steve Bruce's tactics after woeful Brighton defeat

Newcastle United fans have voiced their concerns after a dismal 3-0 defeat to home to Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Magpies were dealt two early sucker-punches as the Seagulls raced into a two-goal lead.

Neal Maupay opened the scoring after only four minutes after Allan Saint-Maximin had conceded a penalty and the Frenchman was then on hand to double the lead inside the opening six minutes.

Despite having 85 minutes of the game left to rescue a result, Newcastle struggled to threaten the Brighton goal despite the introductions of Ryan Fraser and Miguel Almiron before the second half.

Aaron Connolly then added a third goal in the final 10 minutes to confirm a dominant victory for the away side.

The Magpies reached the 80th minute without registering a shot on target, summing up their struggles in the final third.

After last weekend's strong start to their Premier League season, Newcastle fans have been left disappointed by their sides laboured showing at St James' Park.

They took to social media to voice their frustrations and here's a round-up of what they had to say with a lot of criticism aimed at Steve Bruce.

Newcastle take on Morecambe in the Carabao Cup next week before travelling to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
