'No excuse' - Arsenal fans make top four demand of Unai Emery after Man United and Chelsea draws

Arsenal take on Tottenham in the first North London Derby of the season on Sunday.

If the Gunners win they will move up into third place in the Premier League table at this early stage of the season.

And perhaps more importantly they will move five points clear of Spurs and four clear of Manchester United and Chelsea.

United and Chelsea were both in action on Saturday, but neither could pick up all three points, despite having favourable-looking fixtures.

United were held to a 1-1 draw away at ten-man Southampton in the lunchtime kick-off, while the Blues blew a two-goal lead at Stamford Bridge against newly-promoted side Sheffield United to draw 2-2.

Those results, couple with the two clubs' early season form, and Tottenham's indifferent start to the new campaign, have put the Arsenal fans in optimistic mood for the rest of the season.

So much so that a number of fans believe a top four finish is there for the taking, even though the season is in its fledgling stages.

Europa League group stage: Who are the British teams set to play?

Arsenal have been out of the Champions League for the last two seasons, and will be taking part in the Europa League once again this year after finishing fifth last year.

A place in the top four and Champions League football next year is a must for Unai Emery - the supporters demand it.

It is early days, but that if Emery does not manage to see it through this year, looking at the reaction from the Gunners fans, he would be a popular figure at the Emirates.
