NASHIK: Saptashrungi Gad is the abode and glory of entire Maharashtra. Devotees from all over the country come to visit the temple and a large number of citizens also reside here. Therefore, there will be no dearth of funds for the development of Saptashrungi Gad, promised Gulabrao Patil, minister of state for water supply and sanitation.
Patil was speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony of a new water supply scheme worth Rs 9.23 crore. MLA Narendra Darade, Nitin Pawar, sarpanch Ramesh Pawar, sperintendent engineer Sunanda Narwade, tehsildar Bandu Kapase were also present on the occasion.
Patil said, “Water supply scheme has been prepared with the expectation that there will be 75,000 citizens visiting the pilgrimage center every day. Through this new water supply scheme, a water tank with capacity of 2.5 lakh liters of water and water purification plant of capacity of 22 lakh liters of pure water per day will be constructed.
The water will be sourced from Bhavani percolation tank along with cement dam, Suryakund and Ganga Jamuna wells. Also, the solar-powered system has been included in the scheme to avoid the problem of electricity bill, said the minister.
Every hamlet will get water
Maharashtra jeevan pradhikaran is committed to provide tap water to every village and hamlets in the district under Jaljivan Mission. Provision has been made for Nashik district. Also, solar-powered system should be included in the implementation of water supply scheme for the villages, Patil added.
