No Deal Brexit odds: Bookies slash odds on UK leaving Europe without deal and Article 50 extension

After Theresa May’s crushing defeat in her Withdrawal Agreement vote, the odds of Article 50 being extended and the UK leaving with no-deal have been slashed.

The Prime Minister had her Brexit deal rejected for the second time on Tuesday, after MPs voted in a huge margin against it.

Mrs May said a “free vote” will take place tomorrow on a no-deal Brexit, with bookmakers placing their bets at the likiehood of the UK crashing out of the European Union without a deal.

Joe Crilly, of William Hill, said: “The odds of Article 50 being extended and the odds of the UK leaving with no deal have both been cut.

“Who knows what will happen?”

William Hill had Article 50 being extended at 1/8 tonight.

The chances of the UK leaving the EU with a no-deal have been placed at 1/6, with the chances of Article 50 being revoked set at 12/1.

Ahead of Mrs May’s crucial vote on Tuesday evening, Betway placed odds of the PM resigning at 7/4.

Mrs May’s deal was rejected by a margin of 149 votes on Tuesday night, less than 24 hours after she scrambled to Strasbourg in a last-minute effort to negotiate.

The Prime Minister said after the result: "I profoundly regret the decision that this House has taken tonight.

"I continue to believe that by far the best outcome is that the UK leaves the EU in an orderly fashion with a deal, and that the deal we have negotiated is the best and indeed the only deal available.”
