LUCKNOW: While 44% of districts in Uttar Pradesh have no Covid case, nearly 30% districts are left with cases in single digits.
The official data indicates that the state has only 159 active cases.
Of these, 89 cases are concentrated in five districts: Lucknow (23), Gorakhpur (20), Prayagraj (19), Gautam Budh Nagar (16), and Bareilly.
Meanwhile, 24 new cases in the past 24 hours took the state tally to 17,09,835. Of the total, 16,86,784 have recovered while 22,892 have died. The recovery rate is 98.7% and death rate of 1.3%.
The new cases were reported from 11 districts.
About the vaccination status, health officials said the total number of doses administered in state reached 10.87 crore with 19.33 lakh jabs on Friday.
The CoWin dashboard showed that more than 20 lakh doses have been administered in 12 districts.
About 8.73 crore people in the state are partially vaccinated and 2.13 crore are fully immunised.
Health officials urged people due for the second dose to get vaccinated on priority.
