No coronavirus deaths reported in the North East as 20 further patients die in England

It is does not include deaths in the community or in care homes.

Of the 20 recorded deaths, 12 were people aged 80 or over. Seven patients aged between 60-79 died and one person was between 40-59.

One death was recorded in London, seven in the Midlands and four in Yorkshire and Cumbria.

In the North West, there were four deaths, the South East recorded three and there was just one in the South West.

There were no deaths in the east of England or the North East.

Across the rest of the UK, one death was announced in Wales, with no further deaths in Scotland or Northern Ireland.

In figures released by the Department of Health, a total of 958 people have tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
