No coronavirus deaths recorded in Leeds hospitals for 15 days

Leeds hospitals have not recorded a single coronavirus death in the past 15 days.

It comes as no new deaths with Covid-19 were recorded in Yorkshire's hospitals either for the fourth time in July, according to the most recent figures.

NHS England announced this afternoon that there have been another 12 people who have died from the virus in England's hospitals - but none were in Yorkshire.

It brings the total number of people to have died with Covid-19 in hospitals across England to 29,329.

Patients were aged between 40 and 96 years old and all had underlying health conditions.

Leeds death toll from the virus still stands at 338.

This is the fourth time in July that Yorkshire has recorded no rise at all. It means that the total number of people to die in the county's hospitals from the virus has stayed at 2,565.

Across the rest of England, the South East saw the highest rise with another four deaths, followed by the Midlands and the North West with another three each.

London and the East of England also added another death to their numbers.

It comes as Boris Johnson warned earlier this week that there is a threat of a second wave across Europe.

The Prime Minister urged that we must all be "vigilant".
