No Chelsea FC bid for Jules Kounde but he is for sale, confirm Sevilla

Chelsea are yet to bid for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, who is for sale, claims the club's sporting director.

Standard Sport understands the two clubs have been in talks over the centre-back, who last month rejected a move to Tottenham.

Kounde has a £68million release clause but Chelsea are unwilling to meet the figure and could offer a player in part-exchange.

Kurt Zouma has been suggested as a makeweight after failing to agree terms with West Ham over a move to the London Stadium.

Sevilla are in no pressure to sell thanks to Bryan Gil's move to Spurs but sporting director Monchi has confirmed Kounde could leave for the right price.

"Many clubs have asked for Kounde," he said. "Of course there's interest but no official bid is on the table.

"I don't know what's going to happen ... we will sell if an important bid arrives, this is our policy to improve the team."
