'No!' - Chelsea fans in meltdown amid talk of Roman Abramovich sack decision after Leicester

Chelsea fans are reacting to rumours that Frank Lampard's job as head coach is hanging by a thread.

The Blues boss has come under increasing pressure in the past month after overseeing a disappointing run of form in the Premier League that resulted in them sliding down the table.

Saturday's win over Fulham was only their second in seven league outings and also ended a three-game losing streak away from home in the competition.

It's now back-to-back wins for Chelsea across all competitions as they did beat Morecambe in the FA Cup third round earlier in the month, but a test of their resurgence comes against Leicester City tonight.

And a defeat against Brendan Rodgers' side could spell the end for Lampard's spell at Stamford Bridge.

That is what's been reported by The Athletic, who claim it's just a matter of time before the club legend is removed from his position as head coach.

In addition, it's stated that whilst it is possible that Lampard could get until the end of the season, defeat at the King Power Stadium could speed up the process.

Just like in the past when any Chelsea manager has been sacked, any decision to relieve Lampard of his duties would be made by the club's board and owner Roman Abramovich.

This report has garnered a big response from Chelsea fans on Reddit.

hoosdontloos said: "I'd actually cry if it happens. There's nobody in football I believe in more than Lampard.

"And he's not had it easy by any standard. He will prove everyone wrong at some point and I beg that he gets a better chance to do it with us."

A05N said: "I’d be so disappointed if Frank doesn’t get a chance in front of the fans again."

Keyzar_Soze said: "Nooo! I really believe in Lampard as a manager. I will be surprised if he already gets sacked!"

iceman0296 said: "The question is who takes over the club? I know Allegri and Tuchel are in the pipeline but Allegri would be a step backwards imo due to his defensive setup.

"I’d rather wait for the season to end to get the right person in place than seeing this cycle repeat if we get the wrong person in the hot seat. Even if it means having to play EL."

shastmak4 said: "I don’t want Lamps sacked but it’s looking worse and worse. We attack like a championship side, he’s getting the starting 11 wrong.

"Hard to see any positives right now, a big win against Leicester maybe changes the course of the season."

Shogim Kehill said: "Good! We have a player as a manager. And he hasn’t achieved anything besides being our number one legend.

"Its time for this experiment to end. And yes, I love him to bits, and will always be THE Chelsea legend. Just not our manager.

"A bit like Gullit."
