Blue Line trains between O’Hare and Cumberland resume service after obstruction

O’Hare-bound passengers had to get off the Blue Line and take a CTA shuttle bus or find other transportation the rest of the way to the airport. Paul Saltzman/Sun-Times

Blue Line trains between the O’Hare and Cumberland stations are running in both directions after an obstruction on the tracks suspended service for nearly two hours

Crews managed to get trains moving but major delays and congestion should be expected, CTA spokesman Jon Kaplan said. Shuttles are still available between O’Hare and Harlem to help with passenger buildup.

Trains were stopped at the Rosemont station just before 5:30 a.m. due to debris on the tracks, according to an alert from the CTA.
